Captain Brad's - Born Responsible Initiative
BornWet.com has made a choice to stand up for all of those who are, Born Wet. In an aid to all our friends of the sea and to show our thankfulness for the many dinners that come from it to help feed our families, we want to be sure we do this as responsible as possible.
While no one thing is perfect we are making an effort to make a difference and it starts with taking the initiative to start somewhere. So, I started the Born Responsible Initiative. And born from it will be the fruits for future generations like my boys and their kids! We will fight for our waters! The creatures in it and the folks that enjoy it depend on it! We have a duty." - Captain Brad
We provide donations to each of the three groups, Captains For Clean Water, Sea Turtle Conservancy and "Jimmy Buffet's - SaveTheManatee.org"
We encourage you to check out his YouTube channel of his video of his University Of Florida - Florida Master Naturalist Program Project. Captain Brad has been involved in research projects and has help to create a national sand database which analyzes the composition of the local sands so when we bring in sand to perform beach renourisment projects we take into consideration the composition of what is being renourished. It's believed turtles use magnetic field location to bring them back to the same sand where they were born. If you drastically change this sand and or its temperature you may well significantly change the female to male hatch ratios that could throw the balance of their population dynamics off for years to come and possibly forever.
The time is now to take care of our waters. Brad's reasonable approach to being a conservationist and aiding this effort through his Born Responsible Initiative is why he is a leader in the industry. Come join us and "Ride The Tide" with us at BornWet.com for all of our merchandise that supports our local waters so we can continue to share with you and future generations.
Brad has talked about offering a special tour where you get to actually add to the database and spend the day working with sea turtles and or their habitat to get a hands on up close look a the world of the sea turtles and the struggles they face and how we can help. Drop us a line if you would care to join us.
Stay tuned,...as Kenny Chesney once sang, "I hate waiting, there's no patience in these hands." It's our hopes to put together this tour in the very near future as we work with various local chapters of conservation efforts.
